Greece, Ukraine Forge Natural Gas Deal
The memorandum of understanding between Greece's DEPA Commercial and Ukraine's Naftogaz will facilitate the delivery of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine via the Vertical Corridor route between December 2025 and March 2026, a Greek state news agency, reported.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Zelensky witnessed the signing ceremony in Athens.
Mitsotakis said the deal would provide Ukraine with "diversified and reliable energy sources," noting that Greece has become an important hub for gas flows to Central and Eastern Europe.
The two leaders also addressed Ukraine's reconstruction needs, military partnership, and its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration during the meeting.
