Athens Technical College Strengthens Campus Safety With CENTEGIX® CrisisAlert™

Wearable safety technology helps faculty and staff quickly request assistance while giving campus teams precise location information to support response

ATHENS, Ga., Oct. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CENTEGIX®, the leader in rapid incident response safety solutions, today announced that Athens Technical College has implemented CrisisAlert™ wearable safety technology across its campuses, giving faculty and staff a simple, accessible way to request assistance when and where they need it. The platform is now live across its three campuses, protecting 4,500 students and staff.

CENTEGIX worked closely with Athens Technical College throughout implementation to bring the technology to faculty and employees while minimizing the operational lift for campus teams.

“Making sure our campus is a safe place to learn and work is central to our mission at Athens Technical College,” said Dr. Andrea Daniel, president of Athens Technical College. “By installing CENTEGIX CrisisAlert, we can respond faster when help is needed. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to keeping our students, faculty, and staff safe.”

Strengthening Safety Across the College

Across Athens Technical College’s academic buildings, technical labs, simulation centers, and outdoor areas, faculty and staff may not always be near an office phone or other fixed communication tool when assistance is needed. CrisisAlert gives employees a wearable way to request help from wherever they are on campus.

When an alert is activated, designated personnel receive the notification along with precise location information, helping campus teams quickly identify who needs assistance and where.

The technology supports response across a range of situations, from medical and behavioral incidents requiring on-campus assistance to more serious emergencies requiring a broader response. Campus-wide alerts can also activate multi-sensory notifications to help communicate an emergency across facilities.

Supporting a Broader Vision for Student Success

The investment supports Athens Technical College’s broader objective to enhance campus-wide safety and technology infrastructure while creating an environment where students, faculty, and staff can learn and work securely.

“Athens Technical College understands that strengthening safety means giving people a simple way to get help wherever they are,” said Brent Cobb, CEO of CENTEGIX. “Their leadership set a clear priority, and our team worked alongside them to move quickly. Now, faculty and staff have a faster way to get the right help to the right place when they need it, whether the situation calls for support from someone on campus or a broader emergency response.”

CENTEGIX technology protects more than 18 million people across more than 18,000 locations nationwide and has supported more than 1 million CrisisAlert activations, a reflection of how often rapid access to help matters in both everyday incidents and more serious emergencies.

By strengthening communication and improving location awareness, Athens Technical College is building greater readiness into its everyday operations while giving campus leaders additional tools to coordinate response when an emergency occurs.
